Terms of Service

In this guide

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a contract between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], trading as Ryden, registered at [BUSINESS ADDRESS], company number [COMPANY NUMBER] ("Ryden", "we", "us").

They apply every time you place an order on ryden.store. By completing checkout, you confirm that you've read, understood, and accepted these Terms together with our Privacy Policy, Returns Policy, Shipping Policy, and Warranty Policy.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights. If any clause turns out to be unenforceable in your jurisdiction, the rest of the contract remains in force.

2. Who can buy from us

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country) and legally able to enter into a binding contract.

We sell to consumers and small businesses. For wholesale and bulk purchasing, see our Ryden Business portal — the terms there differ.

We deliver to [LIST OF COUNTRIES]. Orders to destinations we don't ship to will be refused and refunded.

3. Your account

You can buy as a guest or create an account. If you create one:

  • You're responsible for keeping your login details secure.
  • Tell us as soon as you suspect someone else has accessed your account.
  • You can close your account at any time by emailing [support@ryden.store] — we'll keep order records as required by law (see privacy policy).

4. Orders and acceptance

The product pages on ryden.store are an invitation to treat, not a binding offer. When you complete checkout, you're making an offer to buy.

We accept your offer — and the contract is formed — when we send you a shipping confirmation email, not when you receive the order confirmation. The order confirmation is just an acknowledgement that we've received your offer.

We reserve the right to refuse an order if:

  • The product is mispriced due to an obvious error (see § 5.3).
  • We suspect fraud or non-payment.
  • The item is out of stock or has been discontinued.
  • We can't deliver to your address.

If we refuse your order after taking payment, we'll refund you in full within 7 business days.

5. Prices, taxes, and currency

5.1 What's included

Prices shown on the site are in [BASE CURRENCY] by default. You can switch to other supported currencies via the currency selector — converted prices are estimates and the final charge is taken in [BASE CURRENCY].

For deliveries within [BASE COUNTRY/EU/UK], prices include VAT at the applicable rate. For international deliveries, prices may be shown excluding tax and the destination country's customs/duties may apply on import — these are your responsibility.

5.2 Sale prices and prior-price displays

Where we show a discounted price, the "prior" price displayed is the lowest price at which the item was offered in the 30 days before the discount started, in line with EU Omnibus / UK Pricing Practices guidance. See /sale for the full method.

5.3 Pricing errors

If a product is priced incorrectly due to a clear error (e.g. a £500 bike listed at £5), and the mistake should have been obvious, we may cancel the order even after acceptance and refund you in full. We'll always contact you first.

6. Payment

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Payments are processed by [STRIPE / ADYEN / ETC] — your card details never touch our servers. Card data is encrypted, tokenised, and processed under PCI-DSS standards by the processor.

If a payment fails or is reversed (chargeback) after dispatch, we may suspend your account and recover the goods. We will always try to resolve the underlying issue with you first.

7. Shipping and delivery

Estimated dispatch times, delivery windows, and shipping costs are set out on the Shipping Policy. Those terms are incorporated into this contract by reference.

Risk of loss passes to you when the courier delivers the package to the address you provided. If delivery is refused, returned by the courier, or fails because the address was incomplete, we may charge a reasonable re-shipping fee.

For damage in transit, please see Returns § 6 — Damaged in transit.

8. Returns, refunds, and cancellation

Our full process is set out in the Returns & Refunds Policy. Highlights:

  • EU / UK customers: 14-day cooling-off period. You may cancel within 14 days of receipt for any reason — this is a statutory right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations / Consumer Rights Directive.
  • Beyond statutory rights: 30-day return window. Unworn, unused condition, original packaging.
  • Some items can't be returned once unsealed for hygiene reasons (helmets after use, intimate cycling wear). See returns policy for the full list.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method within [10 / 14] business days of receiving the return.

9. Product information and descriptions

We do our best to describe products accurately — weights, materials, sizes, photos. Colours on screen may differ slightly from the real item depending on your display.

Specifications may change over time as manufacturers update components. If a change is material to your purchase decision, we'll either contact you before dispatch or accept a return without restocking fees.

We are not the manufacturer for most items we sell. The manufacturer's specifications, claims, and any warranties they provide apply to those items in addition to anything we promise.

10. Warranty and conformity

All goods sold by Ryden come with the legal guarantees set out in your jurisdiction — including, where applicable:

  • UK Consumer Rights Act 2015: goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.
  • EU Consumer Sales Directive (2019/771): minimum 2-year statutory guarantee of conformity for consumer goods.

In addition, many products carry a manufacturer or Ryden warranty covering specific defects for a specific period — these are in addition to your statutory rights, not in place of them.

11. Acceptable use of the site

When using ryden.store, you agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data.
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest the site at a rate or volume that's harmful or excessive.
  • Submit reviews or content that's false, defamatory, or infringes someone else's rights.
  • Buy products for resale outside our authorised channels.

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these rules.

12. Intellectual property

The Ryden name, logo, site design, text, photography, illustrations, and code are owned by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them commercially without our written permission.

You retain ownership of any content you submit (reviews, photos, contest entries), but you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it on our site, in marketing, and across social media — in connection with the products and the shop.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • Any liability that cannot be excluded under your local consumer-protection law.

Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of an order is limited to the price you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data) except where required by law.

This clause is the one most likely to be unenforceable in any specific jurisdiction. Have a lawyer in your primary market vet it.

14. Force majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control — including but not limited to natural disasters, war, civil unrest, pandemics, government actions, courier strikes, or major infrastructure failure. We'll make reasonable efforts to mitigate impact and keep you informed.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION]. Any dispute will, unless resolved informally, be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [JURISDICTION].

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.

EU customers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. We are always happy to try to resolve issues directly — please email us first.

16. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you place an order is the one that applies to that order. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always shows the current version. Material changes will be announced via email and a banner on the site.

Questions about these Terms? Email [legal@ryden.store] or write to [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [BUSINESS ADDRESS].
